Natural Energy Bar Packaging Design
With plans to expand further into the retail grocery space, the owners of Kosuma Energy Bars needed a more professional look for their packaging that competed at the same level as comparable all-natural, vegan energy bars.
In addition to research into the current competition landscape, consideration was given as to the exact packaging material: a matte look with a foil lining was decided upon in order to have both a contemporary look and longer shelf life.
Being only made with completely natural, whole foods, the bars are very simple in their ingredient list, and this simplicity is illustrated with "icons" that tells the consumer exactly what is contained inside the bar.
The owners of Kosuma reported that the new design had an immediate effect on sales, so much so that their ordering and fulfillment routines had to change dramatically to accommodate the uptick.

To make sure we hit the mark, we conducted research into the current competition landscape. We wanted to understand what was already out there and what they needed to do to level up. After careful consideration, we decided on a packaging material with a matte finish and a foil lining.
